The Blair Witch Project (1999) is the story of three student filmmakers—Heather Donahue, Michael C. Williams, and Joshua Leonard—who hike into the Black Hills near Burkittsville, Maryland in 1994 to film a documentary about a local legend known as the Blair Witch… and never come back. One year later, their recordings were found in the woods. The discovered footage was compiled and made into this “posthumous” project.

Welcome to the 4th season debut of Johnny Has the keys! What better to start off the season than with this controversial, inspired yet aggravating bi-polar film. When the BWP hit the scene at the threshold of a new millennium, the hype alone sealed its slot in the canon of classic horror movies. But does it really belong there? Join us as we discuss the pros and cons of this indie project, its tiny budget, small cast, and manipulative marketing. Listen, as Johnny Has the Keys gets lost in the Maryland woods with an obnoxious shaky-cam, shout at the unknown, and cringe from the occasionally terrifying bundle of sticks.
