After a car crash in the snowy mountains, romance novelist Paul Sheldon (James Caan) is rescued by former nurse Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates), who claims to be his “number one fan.” She takes him to her remote cabin to tend to his broken legs. Soon, Paul realizes that he is being held prisoner and that Annie is obsessed and psychotic, often seconds away from mood shifts of murderous rage. What will happen when she discovers he’s killed off her favorite character in his recently released novel?
